The Silver Years

Man’s crown of glory,
This hoary head
Of nature’s wisdom,
Story lines,
Paths mapped out
To fate’s desires,
The brimming eyes
Sea’s regret
Behind mist veils
Treacherous memories’
Treasure trails,
Season’s begotten
Fleeting moments,
Kaleidoscope patterns,
Sandstone strata,
Moulding expression’s
Mounts and vales,
The incarnation
Of the silver years.

OMBRE SOLARE

Oscillating keys

Spinning carefree

Melt into brandishing

Amber leaf moulds,

Musky forest scents

Laden the air,

Shifting deer faces

Peering through boughs

Laden with shimmering

Dew of the morn,

Nature’s eaves

Dropping down.
